Duco & Duco LLP seeks a full-time, Real Estate Law Clerk, working largely independently within the real estate team to provide support to real estate lawyers. The hours of work for the position are Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for a 37.5 hour work week. The qualified candidate must be professional, very client-oriented and able to multi-task in a busy law firm. This qualified candidate must be able to work IN OFFICE at our Innisfil office.
The potential candidate would be involved in the preparation of a variety of real estate sales, purchases & mortgages
Duties
opening files in Unity,
preparation of accounts and reporting to clients and financial institutions;
preparation of correspondence,
contact with clients,
completing title searches and drafting requisition letters,
preparation of all required documentation;
Drafting and amending all correspondence
Preparing various documents in Teraview including Transfers, Charges, Easements, Notices, Discharges etc.
closing transaction with other solicitor;
Conduct legal research on various topics and case law to support ongoing cases.
Assist in drafting legal documents, including briefs, motions, and contracts.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
Perform data entry tasks related to case management and documentation.
Participate in client interviews and gather relevant information for cases.
Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars for attorneys.
Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the office.
Skills
A Law Clerk/Legal Assistant diploma from an accredited University/College program or equivalent;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Proficiency with Teraview, Unity, NetDocs & MS Office Suite;
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team;
Results and detail oriented with a positive outlook.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a high paced law firm
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent interviewing skills to gather information from clients.
Solid research abilities to locate relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
Proficient in data entry with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
Familiarity with file management systems and best practices for document organization.
Administrative and clerical skills necessary for supporting attorneys in daily operations.
Competence in legal drafting to produce clear and concise legal documents.
