The position is classified as R\xc3\x89-06 ($83,979 to $113,423 per annum; 2021 rate of pay under review).A list of qualified people will be compiled and may be used for additional temporary or indeterminate positions.JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Real Estate Advisor to join our team. As a Real Estate Advisor, you will provide subject matter expertise and advice in the areas of real estate transactions and development.You will prepare strategies, negotiate, and provide leadership for the acquisition, exchange, disposal, and leasing of real property. You will also be responsible for developing proposals, reports, presentations, or briefing material intended for management, stakeholder groups, or client organizations.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in real estate, business administration, law, or some other specialty relevant to the position.EXPERIENCE
Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience providing real estate advisory services, including:

  • Leading the development of negotiation strategies, research, risk analysis, and recommendations for real estate transactions and development projects.
  • Negotiating and finalizing important property transactions with various levels of government, private sector, or individuals.
  • Delivering property transaction projects pertaining to acquisitions, exchanges, disposals, licences, leases, and easements.
KNOWLEDGE
  • Of the various types of legal instruments for real estate transactions.
  • Of guiding principles of appraisal of real property interests.
  • Of commercial, agricultural, and residential property market.
ABILITIES
  • To manage and prioritize various tasks while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • To negotiate in a competitive environment.
  • To conduct, analyze, and synthesize market research.

ASSETS
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with a professional real estate organization such as the Canadian Real Estate Association, Real Estate Institute of Canada, Appraisal Institute of Canada, Institute of Municipal Assessors, the Organisme d\xe2\x80\x99autor\xc3\xa9gulation du courtage immobilier du Qu\xc3\xa9bec, the Real Estate Council of Ontario, or another related organization.
  • Experience in procurement processes such as development of procurement strategies and plans, preparation, and finalization of procurement documents (for example: statements of work, evaluation criteria, instruction to bidders, issuance of solicitation documents and awarding contracts, conducting bid evaluations, and negotiating).
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Possess or eligible to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Linguistic profile: Bilingual BBB.
  • Position is in the National Capital Region. The person selected for this position must reside within a commutable distance from the workplace at 40 Elgin Street, Ottawa, Ontario.
  • The National Capital Commission offers a hybrid and flexible work environment, all employees are currently asked to work on-site at least two (2) days per week.
