Working Arrangement

As a member of our Real Estate Accounting team, you will be directly involved with general accounting for the business unit. You will maintain an exceptional level of accuracy in data entries and reporting. You are vigilant when it comes to task management, prioritization, and meeting deadlines. At a cross-functional role capacity, you will be working alongside our asset management, property management and accounting teams to manage tasks regarding corporate billing and allocations.
Responsibilities
Prepare corporate journal entries with proper supporting schedules, including monthly and quarterly standard entries and overhead cost allocation
Process monthly and ad hoc allocations and invoicing to real estate legal entities under management
Process payroll allocation and invoicing to real estate legal entities under management
Reconcile related party accounts monthly, including investigation and correction of reconciling items
Process intercompany and currency exchange entries between General Account real estate legal entities
Monthly update of currency exchange rates
Maintain property management office monthly rent roll and allocations
Follow up and collection on accounts receivable with the real estate legal entities under management
Communicate internally with relevant partners and resolve any issues arising from invoicing discrepancies
Follow up with asset and property management teams regarding allocations and questions with payroll and ad hoc invoicing requests.
Monthly update of currency exchange rates
Maintain comprehensive and up to date filing systems related to accounting functions
Enter financial data into computer software, making sure all bills and invoices are filed correctly
Produce regular journal entries to post to the general ledger
Ensure all records are ready for monthly and quarterly reporting
Prepare when required reports to external business units
Maintenance of existing policy and procedures documentation
Adapt to the needs of the real estate team to complete other accounting tasks when necessary

What we are looking for
Experience with full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping practices
Experience in real estate is an asset
Experience with Yardi Voyager 7S or similar ERP system and Microsoft Excel
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working in a fast-paced environment; ability to work under pressure, being accurate on repetitive tasks and under tight deadlines
A client focused approach; dependable, excellent judgement, reliable, well organized
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, complemented by strong attention to detail

Salary & Benefits
The annual base salary for this role is listed below.
Primary Location Toronto, Ontario
Salary range is expected to be between $51,525.00 CAD - $85,875.00 CAD
