NBM Railways is currently seeking applications for a Railway Conductor located in Maine with responsibilities in New Brunswick and Maine.

Qualifications:

• High school education required
• Railroad experience is preferred; candidates must be willing to train for this position
• Must be flexible for shift work (includes nights, weekends & holidays)
• Must be able to cross the border into Canada and be flexible to stay overnight in McAdam
• Must be able to work effectively outdoors in this physically demanding position
• Possess a commitment to customer service, productivity, teamwork and safety
• Successful completion of the following is required:

• Willing to complete:

• The classroom Rules training (CROR - "A" Card)
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
• Workplace Standard First Aid & CPR
• Railway Medical Assessment
• On-the-job training

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive work instructions from RTC/Planners
• Direct the train movement and switching of cars
• Safe and efficient use of hand brakes / air hoses in coupling and switching rail cars
• Brake Tests as required by regulations
• Communication by radio to Locomotive Engineer and RTC/Planners
• Strict compliance with all regulatory and company procedures and policies
