Queen's Journal of Ethnic and Racial Studies
The Queen's Journal of Ethnic and Racial Studies aims to give students a chance to engage in topics related to existing institutional systems of oppression and racial advocacy that will help enhance their academic perspectives.
Applications will be available until a competitive pool of candidates is established.
Volunteer Position(s)
Senior Editor (2 Positions): Supports editors-in-chief in administrative and management of editing team. Ensuring quality and consistency among editors and providing mentorship.
Editorial Board Member (5 Positions): Reviewing and selecting submissions. Giving authors feedback and fact-checking. Participating in weekly meetings and supporting Senior Editors
Marketing Coordinator (2 Positions): Promoting the journal through social media, digital, and print advertising. Developing posters and visual advertising for display on campus and around Kingston
Event and Outreach Coordinator (2 Positions): Organizing and overseeing journal-related events such as launch parties, information sessions, and community building. Focus on engaging with various faculties/departments and building strong connections with undergraduate student body through events and fundraisers.
First year intern: Assisting with basic tasks such as research, outreach, and light administrative work. Gaining experience while supporting the team and learning editorial standards.
