Quality Systems Coordinator Department:

Quality Manager Position Summary:
The Quality Systems Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Quality Manager in the maintenance,
development, and continual improvement of Variperm\xe2\x80\x99s quality system and related documentation. In
addition, their responsibilities include providing other departments with quality planning and support,
participating in Variperm\xe2\x80\x99s internal and external audits, implementing quality management actions, and
performing inspections as required.
Work Schedule:

This position is salaried and as such may involve working hours outside of regular operational hours. Duties:

  • Participate in the maintenance, development, and continual improvement of Variperm\xe2\x80\x99s quality
  • system and related documentation.
  • Coordinate the nonconformance investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of corrective and preventative
  • actions.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Interface with multiple production shifts and departments, communicating quality issues to
  • pertinent personnel.
  • Assist with new product development and continuous improvement by integrating quality control
  • tools into processes.
  • Monitor and maintain external documents such as specifications and standards.
  • Participate in training and safety meetings as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Competencies
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • A strong aptitude for technical writing, able to understand complex processes and document in clear and concise ways appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Experience working in quality management systems based on quality standards such as ISO 9001:2015 and API Q1.
  • Mechanically inclined, ability to learn and understand manufacturing processes to help determine root cause of quality issues.
  • Keen attention to detail, with strong aptitude to understand technical drawings.
  • Good computer skills, including an understanding of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Team player with good verbal and written communication skills, able to follow and understand
  • Both oral and written instructions in English.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of direct QC experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Relevant post-secondary education.
  • Knowledge and prior experience working within API Q1 and ISO9001 Standards.
  • Lead or internal auditor training or certification is an asset.
  • Any welding inspection or NDT training or certification is an asset.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, capable of multi-tasking, accountable, and able to work with
  • minimal supervision.
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement.
