Major intersection: Keele & Lawrence



Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week.



Schedule: Monday to Friday - 7:00 am - 3:30 pm


Contract: 4 month contract with the possibility to extend.

Job Summary

The Quality Specialist will work with all departments to ensure that all finished goods meet established customer and company quality standards. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining our Quality processes and procedures to meet all ISO 9001 standards, UL testing, and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) regulations.


Essential Functions




Maintain Starfield's quality standards and processes with a goal of exceeding our customers expectations. Drive a culture of Quality Management and Continuous Improvement Work closely with operations teams to maximize product quality and availability while minimizing costs and reducing waste. Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular inspection to identify risks, dependencies, and potential bottlenecks that may impact production as early as possible. Conduct root cause analysis for internal and external quality issues and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Issue and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for internal quality issues and ensure timely resolution. Participate in product and process trials, documenting results and supporting implementation of new process. Oversee the Quality Management System to meet ISO 9001:2015 standards. Control and maintain all documents in accordance with QMS. Determine and continuously test quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures. Track, prepare and present a monthly quality scorecard to management including all quality incidents, fixes, and improvements. Champion our change management initiatives by identifying and managing anticipated resistance to change. Develop and update work instructions and process documentation for new products or process changes. Manage and maintain all Quality documentation. Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Qualifications




Completion of post-secondary education in Textile/Quality or equivalent in experience. 2+ years of experience in a Quality role in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years of experience with ISO 9001:2015 standards. Knowledge of UL testing and/or NFPA regulations considered a huge asset! Strong computer and reporting capabilities. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work well with a team. Self-motivated and organized.

Must be legally able to work in Canada and, where applicable, must have a valid work permit.
