Who we're looking for
Toyota's TMNA Body Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Dimensional Accuracy Technician (Quality Seibi).
The primary responsibility of this role is to pro-actively support new model Quality Seibi project activities at various U.S., Canada and Mexico NAMCs / Tool Vendors, including preparation of daily plans; job tracking; lead / foster good communications and dimensional problem solving; support Kaizens; ensure team safety; standardized work adherence; manage/report out measurement equipment, part data and measurement data.
Reporting to the Quality Seibi Manager, the person in this role will support the Body Production Engineering department's objective to meet or exceed our NAMC customers' expectation for sheet metal body and sub-assembly accuracy.
What you'll be doing
Check/confirm body weld equipment, tools, pallets, parts and assemblies to meet quality targets/KPIs for new model launch
Prepare, troubleshoot and confirm new tooling/equipment, parts and sub-assemblies at various tool/equipment vendors. Support weld and tool quality confirmation activities at Toyota facilities from installation through handover.
Create detailed daily work plans, Project Task Reports & Problem Follow Sheets; track activity status; coordinate Safety communications (JSA, CMs/remedies to unsafe conditions, & safety audits); and support daily/weekly verbal and written communication with the Project Leader and Seibi Management
Provide effective written and verbal communication with Quality Seibi Team Members, Management and outside groups regarding dimensional information and issues that require resolution
Gather/manage part information from Digital Engineering systems and drawings. Analyze part/sub-assembly dimensional data and feed back to Project Leader and Seibi Management
Perform equipment/tool/part confirmation utilizing Portable CMM (FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, Leica etc.) as well as check fixture, weld tooling/equipment measurements, and part fitting activities
Engage in up to 50% travel (or dispatch) to U.S., Canada and/or Mexico NAMCs and machine suppliers, as well as foreign travel including Japan, Canada, Mexico
Work up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays

What you may bring
Associate's Degree (or higher) in a Technical Field
Automotive Body Quality experience
Skilled in gathering and analyzing all quality related part/jig/CMM data
Proficient with Digital Engineering tools related to design/engineering/certification including: CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, PolyWorks, AutoCAD, CMM, PCDMIS
Manufacturing Metrology experience
