Meridia is happy to partner with FPS in their search for a Quality Manager to join their team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Role Description

As the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and communicating the review, assessment, and continuous improvements to the Quality Management System. You will develop solutions related to operations, production, shipping and receiving, and work internally and externally with clients and suppliers. Your duties include maintaining adherence to ISO 9000 standards, performing audits, assisting in root-cause analysis, and keeping track of nonconformities, near misses, and opportunities for improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing comprehensive reviews, evaluating, and suggesting enhancements to the management team including procedures, methods, etc.
  • Identifying quality issues related to manufacturing, whether originating internally or from suppliers.
  • Devising effective solutions and diligently overseeing their implementation to resolution.
  • Advising and assisting management in the setting of appropriate and relevant quality targets, both internally and externally.
  • Ensuring regular reporting for all quality levels, including tracking of all required actions for improvement and prevention.
  • Training production staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to maintain quality standards consistently.
  • Reporting at the management review committee meetings, presenting data and scorecards pertinent to quality metrics.
Your Qualifications

You have an educational background in engineering or engineering technology and/or several years of experience in quality management roles within a manufacturing setting. Your technical background gives you the ability to complete root-cause analysis and problem-solve non-conformance issues that come up during product development. You have experience maintaining ISO certification levels as well as performing audits, supplier evaluations, and product design as it relates to manufacturability. Additionally, your excellent communication and organizational skills make you a great people person and you have a demonstrated history of collaborating across departments.

Your qualifications include:
  • Engineering degree, technology diploma or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in quality management in a manufacturing or industrial environment; A quality designation is considered an asset.
  • An exceptional written and oral communicator combined with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as with others at various levels within the organization
  • Being able to challenge the status quo and embrace change
  • Operate with safety as a priority
