Directly responsible to the Quality Manager, the Quality Technicianxe2x80x99s role will be seen as pivotal in our efforts to drive at-source quality at ALMAG. The role requires the individual to support new product introduction, provide quality training, support, and to work collaboratively with various teams to develop standard work and ensure compliance.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe quality technicianxe2x80x99s primary responsibility is to positively support the various departments in assuring that the requirements of the customer and quality management system are being met throughout each department. Additionally, the quality technician contributes to the continuous improvement of Almagxe2x80x99s quality system.The duties and responsibilities of the Quality Technician are detailed below, but not limited to the following:

• Plan, perform and direct, Faro Arm inspection operations on vendor and in house manufactured products and machined parts.
• Write inspection programs for all available information including two dimensional drawings, three-dimensional solid models and other source materials.
• Review product drawings for specifications, select starting points, sequence of operations
• Supporting the New Product Introduction process by assuring new customer requirements are understood and achieved
• Responsible for performing audits of various departments to ensure that the QMS requirements are being met.
• Communicate new product status, its performance based on data, and provide samples and feedback to the respective departments with continuous improvement approach in mind.
• Responsible for collecting samples as required for various customer and internal requirements.
• Responsible for tracking and supporting Quality Containment processes for nonconforming product in all departments.
• Responsible for supporting production team in achieving customer requirements through training, auditing, and development of standard documents.
• Provide direction and support to any special sorting if needed, with the focus on accuracy and efficiency of sorting.
• Perform product testing for mechanical properties.
• Support team lead and shift supervisors to determine criteria for acceptance or rejection when there is uncertainty.
• Provide direction to the team if clarification is required for WO notes or requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Experience

• 3+ years of experience in quality inspection, metrology, or related field, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience using Faro Arm.
• Minimum 3 years experience in quality, working in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in developing, modifying, and optimizing inspection programs using Faro software is preferred
• ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) would be an asset.
• Certified Internal Auditor would be an asset.

Technical Skills/Competence

• Demonstrated ability to program Faro arm and take measurements and inspections using Faro Arm.
• Conduct inspections of parts, components per engineering specifications, drawings and customer requirements.
• Develop, modify, and optimize inspection programs for Faro Arm using Faroxe2x80x99s software CAN2.
• Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to verify the dimensions and tolerances of manufactured products.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration across departments and within teams
• Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently, consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality output.
• Flexibility/Adaptability to meet customer business requirements
• Effective strong communication skills, written, oral, listening, technical writing
• Advanced knowledge of GD&T and drawing interpretations
• Ability to work and make decisions independently
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention detail
• Must be competent in the use of hand tools measuring instruments i.e. Calipers, micrometers
• Basic proficiency with MS-office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Fork Lift Certified
