The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all grain products meet the company's quality standards throughout the receiving, manufacturing, storage, and shipping stages. The role involves conducting daily quality control activities, performing tests and inspections, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and grade farmer sample, raw materials upon receipt to ensure they meet specified quality standards (CGC, USDA).
Perform routine checks on production lines and test in-progress products in the laboratory.
Conduct biological swabbing, product sampling, and allergen/species testing.
Calibrate and verify lab equipment and bagging room scale to maintain accuracy in testing.
Assist during third-party audits and be available for questions and documentation.
Place products on hold if they do not adhere to food safety or quality standards.
Complete paperwork and reporting tasks, including trend analysis and shift reports.
Collaborate with production staff to ensure products are manufactured according to standards.
Assist in customer complaint investigations and resolve issues promptly.
Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in office, and laboratory spaces.
Qualifications:
Grading Pulses and another specialty crop as per CGC and USFDA.
Food safety certifications may be required for specialization.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Work Environment:
The Quality Control Technician will work in a dynamic environment that includes grain receiving areas, processing facilities, storage units, and shipping docks. The role requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed.
