The Quality Control Technician ensures that materials and production processes for ready mix concrete meet CSA standards. Quality Control Technicians perform a variety of tests on concrete and raw materials, update/maintain records in databases, work as part of a team to continuously improve production quality, and act as a company liaison between contractors and City Mix Inc.

Responsibilities:

Testing and reviewing concrete quality on a day-to-day basis between multiple batch plants. Assessing quality of aggregates through necessary testing. Informing Plant Operators about current quality conditions while aiding to achieve peak plant performance. Visiting job sites for inspection of concrete quality and review of activities on site as they relate or affect product quality. Ensure independent testing agencies are complying with CSA standards. Actively measuring performance levels in concrete products to verify concrete quality meets both the specification and customer requirements. Performing data entry for all concrete and aggregate testing. Maintaining records for all data for review, evaluation and submission. Maintaining and updating product inventory. Assisting in training employees with appropriate technical knowledge. Performing other duties as requested by QC supervisor.
Qualifications:

Applicants must be willing to work long hours as needed and on weekends when required. Applicants will need a Class 5 Driver's license that is in good standing and access to a vehicle to get to and from work. Company vehicles are provided throughout the day. Applicants should be comfortable lifting and moving 50lbs, working on their feet for extended periods of time, and being in both indoor and outdoor environments.

ACI/CCIL certification (or willingness to obtain certification) is preferred. Experience in various roles the heavy construction industry is an asset. Graduates of Civil Engineering Technology are strongly encouraged to apply.

Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week
