What you'll be doing:



As our Quality Control Technician you will work closely with our Brewing and Production departments to provide quality assurance of our award-winning beer. Main functions of the role include testing and analysis of our product during varying stages of the production process; following-up on any identified issues; maintaining HACCP standards; and accurate record keeping.

We are looking for an individual with relevant post-secondary education and experience in a food manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will be organized, detail oriented, and have exceptional communication skills.

Main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



Working with our Brewing and Production teams to provide quality assurance of FBC product Testing and analysis of samples during the brewing and packaging process, as well as finished product, which includes physical chemistry and aseptic microbiology testing Follow-up with departments on identified quality control issues, providing data and input into corrective measures Maintain Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards Suggest, coordinate, and lead quality improvement projects Comply with environmental and health & safety regulations Investigations into quality control measures based on customer complaints and managing any product holds Maintaining a well-organized and clean lab, including cleaning, maintenance, and calibration of lab equipment Maintaining lab supply inventory Maintain an accurate record keeping system for quality control data Conduct audits to support understanding with operators on quality testing Adhere to, and provide input into, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Assist in training team members on quality control, sanitation, and testing procedures as needed

Requirements



Relevant post-secondary education such as Bachelor's Degree in microbiology, food science, chemistry, or Diploma in quality control Experience in quality control in food or beverage manufacturing Working knowledge of HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point) principles Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to work under minimal supervision, as well as within a team A collaborative mindset Keen to look for innovation and improvement Excellent time management skills and attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
This is a full-time, permanent position and is approximately 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. We offer a competitive compensation package, commensurate with experience, including dental, medical and lifestyle benefits.
