: Quality Assurance Specialist - Technology (Salesforce) IT Solutions Division Contract Full-Time; 13 Months* *david will reconfirm duration with Peter Pay Band: $84,335 - $105,417 per annum
Overview:

The Digital Services Team (“DST”) is actively working towards improving the technology experience and advancing the Region’s strategic outcomes for employees and residents. Improved service delivery will be achieved through People centered services, Service focused solutions and outcome-oriented service delivery.
In a unique cross-departmental collaboration, the Digital Services Team partners with the Public Works department; focusing on the Waste Management and Trans Help divisions.
The outcome of this collaboration will position Digital Services as a highly adaptable and forward-thinking team and ultimately accelerate the pace of delivering on technology in support of the Region’s strategic outcomes.

You will be responsible for Quality Assurance technology activities in support of the Digital Services Team projects and initiatives in support of, and in close collaboration with the TransHelp and Waste Management divisions of Peel’s Public Works department.

In this role you will be responsible for the design, creation, execution and maintenance of test cases to ensure that quality assurance standards and procedures are validated, and meet the end-user(s) specifications. You will achieve this by conducting and documenting thorough testing and debugging of new and existing Salesforce and other software applications, across various business units supported by the Digital Services Team and Public Works Trans Help and Waste Management divisions, and IT Solutions division of the Corporate Services department.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish QA performance standards, procedures, audit, escalation and matrix controls in order to meet the Digital Services Team business requirements.
  • Create and maintain all QA control documentation.
  • Document reliability, error codes, fixes, security, compliance issues and risks before ‘Go Live’ implementation.
  • Create functionality versus requirements traceability matrices and test environment matrices.
  • Provide assistance, guidance and subject matter expertise to project team members (developers, system analysts and other Regional resources) on QA testing, methodologies, frameworks, processes and to skillfully trouble-shoot issues and seek resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Assist multiple project teams with the testing of systems, modules and prototypes.
  • Analyze scope, risks and status updates associated with tests including smoke tests.
  • Manage the integration of quality principles and best practices into the design and development of software and IT processes.
  • Verify functionality, ease of use, reliability, enhancements and compatibility with other software to mitigate risk.
  • Reviews application software and security requirements, performs gap analysis and provides recommendations on relevant Salesforce and related technology platforms and systems.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of operations by constantly exploring new methods for software verification and validation.
  • Responsible for assisting with the organization's quality assurance policies and documenting product development processes.
  • Conduct on-going regression and integration testing of products(s) post implementation.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the DST management team.

Qualifications:
  • University or college graduate in Computer Science or related discipline and/or combination of education and practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with QA practices, systems, regulations, guidelines, and associated standards. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Test certifications in IIST, ISEB, CSQA, CMST and/or ISTQB are preferred.
  • Experience with either open source or commercial automated tools (Selenium, GitHub, Cucumber, QTP, etc.)
  • Best practices and experience with both waterfall and agile (scrum) project management methodologies are preferred.
  • Experience with QA for release management on the Salesforce platform, including Salesforce certification, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience of various software testing methods (Regression, Load/Stress, Code Coverage Analysis, Black/White box testing, Acceptance, Performance)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interface directly with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to create and review technical documentation, including test procedures, design and sign-off documents.
  • Strong problem identification, analytical and resolution skills.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude to meet multiple deadlines.


Location:
In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
