Quality Assurance Person
Aqualitas is looking for an experienced and self-motivated Quality Assurance Person. The QAP is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of the quality assurance and control systems in strict compliance with The Cannabis Act and Regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance:
o Understanding and compliance with the current Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations
2. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
o Develop, implement, and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processes involving cannabis production.
3. Quality Assurance Controls:
o Establish and oversee quality assurance controls during all stages of production and maintain quality standards.
4. Batch Testing and Analysis:
o Coordinate the testing of cannabis products to ensure they meet specifications at third party laboratories.
o Ensure product is tested using validated methods.
o Maintain specification for batch release.
o Batch release all products before sale.
5. Documentation and Record-Keeping:
o Maintain all documentation and batch records for processing
o Ensure good documentation practices are followed
6. Quality Audits:
o Conduct regular internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of quality assurance processes and identify areas for improvement.
o Participate in audits conducted by regulatory bodies, certifying bodies and customers.
7. Supplier and Material Qualification:
o Ensure suppliers of raw material and cannabis suppliers are qualified under an approved supplier qualification program.
8. Training and Education:
o Ensure staff are adequately trained for their job duties including GMP relevant processes.
9. Quality Management System
o Implement and maintain all aspects of the quality management system including but not limited to:
a. Change controls
b. Deviations
c. Corrective and Preventative Actions
d. Out of Specification results
e. Complaints- investigate all complaints
f. Recall-including mock recalls
10. Continuous Improvement:
o Continuously monitor and analyze processes to identify opportunities for improvement in quality control and assurance procedures.
11. Preventative Control Plan
o Develop and implement and maintain preventative control plans
12. Sanitation Program:
o Implement and maintain a sanitation program for the production of cannabis
o Implement and maintain cleaning validations
o Ensure there is an adequate personnel hygiene program for personnel.
13. EUGMP
o Ensure that EUGMP certification is maintained through equipment qualification and process validation
o Ensure any qualifications and validations are current
o Complete product quality reviews yearly
14. Pest Control Program
o Ensure the pest control program for the facility is maintained and is adequate to ensure sanitary conditions
o Ensure there is an adequate pest control program for cannabis plants

Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role, preferably in the cannabis, pharmaceutical, or food and beverage industries
A degree or diploma in Quality Assurance, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field. Additional certifications in cannabis quality assurance (e.g., GPP, GMP) are an asset.
EU GMP Experience is MUST
Familiarity with Health Canada's Cannabis Act, Cannabis Regulations and other cannabis-related regulations is highly preferred.
Required to be familiar with the applicable provisions of the Act and associated regulations

Status and Hours: Permanent, 40 hrs per week
