Job Description


Your accountability extends to managing all quality and technical responsibilities at the plant. It is crucial to guarantee that our plant adheres to both external and internal quality standards, such as CFIA, SQF, FDA, and other relevant criteria, to uphold the quality and food safety of our products before they are delivered to customers. Your role encompasses the inspection of all production procedures and outputs, actively identifying any errors or instances of non-conformity.   • Strategize, oversee, update, uphold, and monitor adherence to all technical standards and policies at the plant in alignment with SQF and CFIA standards, aiming to maintain and enhance certifications such as SQF, BRC, and other quality certifications for the business.
  • Take charge of leading the quality team during third-party audits of the plant, actively engaging with auditors to enhance the current certification points for the facility.
  • Provide daily guidance and supervision to floor foremen, quality technicians, and all other plant personnel, overseeing operations from product reception to the shipment of finished goods.
  • Maintain daily records of quality reports, forms, customer and stakeholder complaints, statistical reviews, and pertinent documentation for the company.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal standards pertaining to the quality of the business\'s products.
  • Develop procedures for the inspection and reporting of all quality issues to the relevant parties.
  • Monitor all processes impacting the quality of products.
  • Guarantee the reliability and consistency of production by conducting final output checks.
  • Evaluate customer requirements to ensure satisfaction.
  • Promptly report any malfunctions to production management for immediate action.
  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data.
  • Collaborate with external quality assurance officers during on-site audits.
  • Undertake any additional technical and quality management responsibilities for the plant as required by the business.
Qualifications
  • QA work experience in fish or food industry, 3 years or more (Required)
  • Experience of 3 years SQF or BRC certified firm (Required)
  • Experience of 3 years HACCP (Required)
  • French (Required)
  • English (Required)
  • Willing to relocate to commuting distance from the plant in NB (Required)
  • Prior experience in a lobster/crab processing plant (Asset)
  • Bilingual English/French in both written and spoken (Asset)
  • Previous BRC certification and experience (Asset)
