Each of our ingredients responds to unique and essential needs, and they enable healthier lifestyles.The Quality Assurance Manager position will require collaborative work with cross functional groups including Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Purchasing, Vendors and Customers. The incumbent will be responsible for management of Roquette\xe2\x80\x99s Quality Assurance programs for our manufacturing operations related to human food and animal feed production. Including Health Canada and GMP compliance, HACCP implementation,documentation, complaint investigation, non-conformance investigation as well as technical support related to Quality Assurance. This position also oversees the Quality Control laboratory and is responsible for ensuringthe proper execution of raw material, in-process, and finished product inspection plans.Key ResponsibilitiesGuarantee customer satisfaction and ensure the Portage la Prairie, Manitoba site Quality performancerelated to:

  • Customer quality expectations
  • Canadian Health and GMP compliance
  • FSMA and HACCP implementation
  • Work together with Customer Care and Commercial teams to provide superior service to customers
  • including complaint handling, customer audits/visits and responses to customers in a proactive way.
  • Implement and improve QA management and food safety programs.
  • Identify site improvement opportunities, in particular based on external or internal audits.
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional groups including Operations, Supply Chain, Sales,
  • Purchasing, Vendors and Customers
  • Manage and develop the Portage la Prairie, Manitoba site Operational Quality team
  • Ensure the achievement of the Operational Quality objectives of the site
  • Manage effective application of Global Quality directives at the site level
  • Organizing external & internal Quality audits
  • Ensure effective handling of complaint investigation, non-conformance investigation as well as
  • technical support related to Quality.
  • Ensure proper performance of the Portage Quality Control laboratory and instrumentation.
  • Conduct statistical analysis, problem solving and trouble shooting
Functional competencies
  • Previous Quality Assurance management experience in food or pharmaceutical excipient manufacturing
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with both internal and external customers
  • Demonstrates ability to develop and implement QA management and food safety programs effectively
  • Demonstrates ability to work both independently and contribute in a team environment
  • Demonstrates ability to self-start, plan, organize, document and follow through on multi-task responsibilities
  • Demonstrates strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills (RCA and statistical analysis skills are a plus)
  • The ability to effectively communicate and develop professional relationships with internal and external parties
  • Through understanding of Health Canada regulations for human food and animal feed.
  • Understanding of FSMA for human food and animal feed (PCQI certification is a plus)
  • Working knowledge of QC and analytical chemistry (HPLC experience a plus)
  • Demonstrates high-level computer skills
Education:
  • BS degree in a chemistry, food science or related technical field
  • Experience:
  • 5 years of Quality Assurance management experience in the food or pharma industry
  • Specific requirements:
  • Through understanding of Health Canada regulations for human food and animal feed.
  • Understanding of FSMA for human food and animal feed (PCQI certification is a plus)
