Quality Assurance Coordinator

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this function is responsible for leading the Quality Assurance activities, to ensure that Company, Customer and Regulatory Authorities Quality expectations are met, to actively participate in maintaining an effective Production Quality Management System and to Continually Improving quality performance within the Company. The company adheres to ISO 9001:2015 certification standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES



Manage quality assurance activities

Act as liaison between customer, regulatory authorities, Company and supplier functions on quality activities to ensure compliance to requirements and continuously improve Company's products quality and system processes performance.

Validates the manufacturing process and product inspection plans to the most current internal, customer and regulatory requirements

Certifies and releases products delivered to Customers. This activity encompasses verification of the final product quality, product build documents and preparation and approval of product release documents

Reviews all relevant contract documentation for quality requirements and prepares/updates product and process quality plans

Validates the quality clauses applicable to supplier contracts

Evaluates, amends and controls internal quality management systems

Oversees records control activities

Oversees product configuration control system

Oversees Corrective Action activities

Carries out regularly scheduled internal Quality Audits, and supports customer or third party audits to ensure adherence to and effectiveness of Company's processes and compliance to quality management systems requirements

Initiates, investigates and participates in corrective action teams to address product, process or system non-conformances; improvements control of nonconforming product

Participate actively in multifunctional team activities or focus groups involved in lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma, 5S, set-up reduction, new manufacturing system (process, equipment, technology) implementation and validation and others

Carries out other tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager in the effort to meet set Company business objectives.

Acts as a back-up to the Production Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONALITY:



Minimum 3-5 years post-secondary education, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or equivalent

5 years minimum combined experience in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Product Compliance Processes

Thorough knowledge of Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Processes and associated Quality procedures and techniques, including statistical techniques

Proficient in developing plans, independent or system integrated

Proficient in interpreting drawings, customer and regulatory specification requirements

Proficient in using AutoCAD for drawing control

Proficient in understanding product measurement system requirements

Basic understanding of the MRP and ERP system tools.

ASQ CQE and CQA certification, ISO experience an asset

Basic understanding of 5S, 6 Sigma practices.

Ability to produce clear and comprehensive written procedures and reports.

Proficiency in the use of MS Office, Excel, database and web applications

Very good communication skills

Proactive thinker and creative aptitudes

Team coaching skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
