An exciting Temporary Full-Time opportunity exists as a Quality & Accreditation Coordinator in our Quality, Safety & Patient Experience department. This role will coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams across the hospital to support planning and readiness for hospital-wide Accreditation via Accreditation Canada. In collaboration with the Quality team, provides administrative and analytical support to ensure the ongoing Accreditation needs of the programs and departments are met

Summary of Duties but not limited to:

  • Responds to internal inquiries or requests regarding Accreditation Canada Standards, Required Organizational Practices (ROPs) and related processes
  • Coordinates intake of departmental updates on accreditation readiness
  • Maintains tracking of organization-wide Accreditation milestones and status
  • Ensures all required documentation (reports, instruments, assessments, etc.) is submitted to Accreditation Canada via the portal in a timely manner
  • Assists with the analysis and compilation of survey/instrument results, Accreditation Canada and hospital compliance reports and submissions as needed
  • Assists with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the accreditation preparedness
  • Monitors portal for key messages and ensures they are communicated with multi-disciplinary Accreditation teams in a timely manner
  • Supports the design of education to leaders, teams and patients to prepare for Accreditation including learning aids, tip sheets, mock tracers, milestones, timelines, and awareness initiatives
  • Assists in delivering innovative educational/awareness strategies and curriculum to prepare the organization for the onsite/virtual survey
  • Champions quality improvement, safety culture and patient engagement through formal and informal communication approaches with cross-organizational teams
  • Provides administrative support to policy development and finalization process
  • Provides information to leaders, staff and policy stakeholders to navigate the organization's policies and development processes
  • Obtains policies resources from external partners and governing bodies to support subject matter experts to develop and update WCH policies
  • Maintains up-to-date database of policies including support to publish new policies, archive of dated polices
  • Maintains up-to-date information on the Accreditation, Quality and Policy intranet pages
  • Tracking of WCH policies upcoming and overdue for review
  • Provides administrative support to policy development and finalization process
  • Provides information to leaders, staff and policy stakeholders to navigate the organization's policies and development processes

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree in a related field is required
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a hospital environment with an understanding of hospital structures and applicable regulations
  • Prior experience with hospital Accreditation preferred
  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodology and safety culture are assets
  • Strong skills in Office 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint and other desktop publishing and communication platforms
  • Experience coordinating projects, coordinating multiple information sources, committees, and working groups
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships and be an effective team player
  • Strong customer service orientation with demonstrated sensitivity to client issues, ability to deal effectively with internal and external clients and understand of importance of diplomacy and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to prioritize duties/projects, multi-task, and work independently in a fast-paced environment with constant demands and interruptions
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative
