Position Summary:

The Quality Accreditation Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring all activities related to Accreditation Canada and other external quality review processes across the region. This role works collaboratively with leadership, managers, physicians, staff, clients, families and community partners to ensure Interlake-Eastern RHA's programs and services meet or exceed accreditation standards and support a culture of continuous quality improvement, patient safety and person-centered care. The position of Quality Accreditation Coordinator functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the mission, vision and values of the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority.

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline (e.g., Nursing, Allied Health, Health Administration) or a related field is preferred, combination of Accreditation Standard experience and other health related experience would be considered. Formal training in quality improvement, patient safety, risk management or project management is an asset (e.g., Yellow/Green Belt, Project Management Professional). Comprehensive understanding of health-care quality, patient safety and continuous improvement principles. Knowledge of Accreditation Canada standards, ROPs and survey processes, or demonstrated ability to acquire this knowledge quickly. Minimum [3-5] years recent experience in health care, preferably in quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, accreditation or related areas. Experience working in a regional health authority, hospital, long-term care or community health setting preferred. Demonstrated experience leading or supporting accreditation processes (Accreditation Canada or equivalent) is a strong asset. Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines and stakeholders across a geographically dispersed region. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) with the ability to translate complex standards into clear, practical expectations. Strong facilitation, coaching and change-management skills to support teams through improvement work. Demonstrated ability to collect, interpret and present data in meaningful ways (reports, dashboards, visual displays). Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort with electronic data systems and collaboration platforms. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with personnel. Integrity in dealing with confidential matters. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with clients, health care professionals, staff and the public. Strong organization, decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently. Valid Manitoba driver's license. Mental and physical ability to meet the demands of the position. Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to communicate in more than one language would be considered an asset. Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions. Completes and maintains a satisfactory pre-employment security check.
