Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.
This position provides senior level coordination and project management for accreditation activities and quality improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Director, Program Quality & Accreditation in the MD Program, the Accreditation Coordinator will coordinate the collection, analysis, and reporting of accreditation data to satisfy the requirements of the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS). This position collaborates with the Program Evaluation Unit (PEU), members of the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry and the MD Program to coordinate the documentation, logistics, and preparation of accreditation-related activities at two campuses (Edmonton and Grande Prairie).This includes project management support for accreditation processes, as well as writing and updating accreditation documentation, accessing information and data, and implementing quality improvement processes that support ongoing accreditation and MD Program initiatives.
Responsibilities:

  • Create timelines, milestones, and deliverables for accreditation and ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the MD Program.
  • Communicate accreditation requirements to internal and external partners.
  • Develop strategies to organize and display accreditation data to ensure it is accessible to MD Program leaders.
  • Develop and implement strategies for collecting, organizing, and managing information that is required for accreditation and other quality assurance purposes.
  • Collect and analyze data from faculty members and departments in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, including the Edmonton and Grande Prairie campuses, in response to the accreditation and other quality assurance requirements.
  • Ensure the medical school and MD Program are responding to the most current accreditation requirements.
  • Evaluate the accuracy and quality of the data collected and follow up with information holders as needed.
  • Identify and collect alternative data sources to demonstrate compliance with accreditation or other quality assurance requirements.
  • Write and update narrative responses for accreditation requirements based on a variety of data sources.
  • Ensure appropriate data sources are available, including program performance data for both campuses of the MD Program in collaboration with the Program Evaluation team
  • Write, compile, and manage documents for accreditation, including self-study reports, evidence, and other required information.
  • Update the accreditation database with new data and information as outlined in the Continuous Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Develop ongoing communications strategies about accreditation-related topics aimed at FoMD and MD Program leadership, faculty and students in collaboration with the FoMD communications partner.
  • Perform internal reviews to identify gaps or areas for improvement, particularly related to new or updated accreditation requirements.
  • Prepare notification documents for CACMS as changes are made to the MD Program, including curricular or program changes.
  • Develop actions to address recommendations from CACMS or other quality assurance processes.
  • Develop and implement a records management strategy for accreditation-related documentation.
  • Collaborate on accreditation research projects and scholarship in collaboration with the Director, Program Quality & Accreditation and the Program Evaluation Specialist.
  • Collaborate with the administrative and faculty teams at the Edmonton campus and the Grande Prairie regional campus to develop and maintain best practices related to accreditation.
  • Schedule and organize meetings with faculty, staff, and others who are involved in accreditation or quality assurance processes.
  • Draft, send, and track communication with faculty, staff, students, and CACMS.
  • Respond to questions or requests from internal or external partners related to accreditation of the MD Program.
  • Manage platforms and software used to collect and share accreditation or quality assurance data.
  • Submit documentation to the accrediting body.
  • Track changes in accreditation standards and requirements.
  • Review reports and documentation for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accreditation requirements.
  • Prepare faculty, staff, and students for interviews with accreditation site visit teams.
  • Organize logistics for accreditation site visits, including schedules, interviews, and facility tours.
  • Coordinate site visit schedules and accreditation related meetings.
Qualifications:
Minimum
  • A Master's degree is required.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, managing and organizing information in a variety of formats is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency in office applications and electronic learning platforms (e.g. Google Suite, MS Office, Cally, etc.).
  • Project management experience is an asset.
  • Highly developed organizational and problem-solving skills.
