Job Title QE Analyst


















What is the opportunity? The RBC Team in Toronto is hiring for multiple Engineer roles on the AML IT team . This role will require you to be located in the Toronto/GTA region and be able to commute to the office as you will be required to work at least two days per week in the office, as indicated by your manager inlined with RBC . As a Quality Engineer you provide support for a suite of business mission-critical and complex applications, understanding both front and back-end of the applications. The technology platform spans the breadth of Windows and Linux platforms, Python / Java environments and MS SQL and Oracle platforms. What will you do?

  • Create test plans, test cases and test scripts based on complex requirement documents and business User Stories
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites using test automation tools
  • Execute test cases (manual/automated) document test results and raise defects whenever necessary.
  • Be responsible for component or end-to-end tracking of issues, as required
  • Will be responsible for oversight on multiple projects providing regular status updates to management and overseeing a team of QE members
  • Work with JIRA, Confluence and HP ALM/QTest for test case management, defect management, test reporting and other functions
  • Conduct defect triage and communicate required updates to stakeholders
  • Participate and contribute to scrum ceremonies
  • Test new technologies and system functionality to ensure business acceptance, user acceptance and system integration
  • Effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders and business partners from initiation to close by using strong communication, rapport building and other stakeholder management techniques
  • Continually enhance your own skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems.
  • Explore and integrate new testing tools and technology into QE methodology
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Experience in developing code in languages such as Java
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Selenium
  • Experience with various ETL validation methods
  • Understanding of QE methodologies and best practices to conduct data validation
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Experience with Linux and shell scripting
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Such as Robot framework)
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitHub
  • Ability to work independently and is a self-starter with the ability to drive the work flow between team members
  • Understanding of the software development process and experience with the AGILE Methodology (i.e.Scrums, Sprints, Retrospectives, etc)
  • Experience with test case creation (both manual and automated)
Nice-to-have
  • Understanding of IT Standards, methodologies, CMM & audit requirements
  • Experience with Spark, HDFS, HIVE, Cloudara and UCD, JIRA
  • Experience with performance testing and testing tools
  • Ability to understand database models and data mapping
  • Experience in banking/financial industry
