Job Description


We are currently accepting resumes for the position of Quality Control Inspector Level 1 based at the Dow site in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Camp or LOA is not provided therefore only local applicants will be considered.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Quality Lead
  • Understand and adhere to Tartan\xe2\x80\x99s safety management system, policies, procedures and values;
  • Understand and adhere to Tartan\xe2\x80\x99s Quality Management System;
  • Maintain Welders Log and Certificates applicable;
  • Assembly of Turnover packages;
  • Data entry as required for QC documentation;
  • Completing appropriate ABSA required forms ie:AB-83 forms;
  • Maintaining and creating Material Receiving Logs;
  • Create drawing and client documentation logs;
  • Material receiving, tracking & purchasing of pipe and fittings;
  • Assemble hydro test packages;
  • Receive, setup and maintain hard copies and electronic copies for client drawings and bid packages;
  • Distribute drawings as per quality manual & project distribution matrix;
  • Ensure that all received hard copies and electronic copies are filed appropriately with attributes and correctly in a folder structure;
  • Coordinating with client document control representative to ensure accuracy of information received;
  • General support for all QC and high level project personnel.

  • Team player and committed to safety and quality;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision;
  • Must be a self-starter with proven ability to make comprehensive decisions;
  • Manual dexterity, good vision (glasses are acceptable), eye-hand coordination;
  • The ability to concentrate on detailed work;
  • Experience in a heavy oil operating environment;
  • Strong organization, time management ability;
  • Motivation to work in a fast paced, deadline, and team oriented environment;
  • Above average attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong working; relationship with all levels in the organization and external customers.
Qualifications
  • Certified as CSA W178.2 Level I Welding Inspector;
  • Journeyman Pipefitter Ticket
  • Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a similar role or a fabrication shop environment;
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet;
  • Valid H2S Alive (would be an asset);
  • Valid First Aid (would be an asset);
  • Clearance of a Pre-access D & A test;
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license;
  • Clean drivers abstract;
  • Previous experience in heavy oil and/or gas industry.
