Qc Field Engineer/qc Field Coordinator

Job Description



Assists the superintendent proactively with technical and QA/QC support, to ensure the project meets all the requirements of the drawings, specifications and applicable codes. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities/Competencies

  • Ensure adherence to FWS Quality Management Procedures.
  • Prepare non-conformance reports and participate in the corrective action program when required.
  • Perform on and offsite inspections as per the project inspection test plans, and ensure QC pre-commissioning checklists are completed.
  • Assist with coordinating 3rd party testing & inspection, as required by the inspection test plans.
  • Collect and file required documents for client hand over packages.
  • Assist in maintaining current site drawings and specifications, including redline markups.
  • Receive and inspect supplier deliveries.
  • Perform minor quantity surveys and track percentage of work complete.
  • Liaison with FWS and third-party designers on technical issues.
  • Assist Superintendent in maintaining the integrity of the site punch list.
  • Participate in the six week look ahead & weekly work planning sessions.
  • Be a critical eye. Spot deficiencies and escalate until successful resolution.
  • Track time and material contracts as required.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Superintendent.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all business interactions and strives to meet customer needs in a creative and safe manner.
  • Pleasant demeanor, with an ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks while working within a team environment.
  • Bachelor of Engineering, Diploma in Engineering technology, or relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Previous construction experience and general knowledge of construction materials and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff, clients and suppliers.
Other Information
  • Position will involve considerable extended time away from home within North America
  • May be involved in multiple projects at a time
  • This is rotation work with night shift work required occasionally
  • Must be fit for work, in good health, and able to pass drug and alcohol screening
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to handle packages / materials up to 50lb. weight, unassisted
