Position Overview

:
As a QA Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our food products throughout the production / cooling / delivery process. You will work closely with the Quality Assurance team to implement and maintain our quality assurance programs and uphold regulatory compliance. You will report directly to the CEO and have direct visibility into all areas of the business. You will have the chance to craft and layout our framework for how QA impacts our production teams and to in a way, write the book! There is a ton of autonomy in this position so we are looking for a self-starter and a highly motivated individual who is looking to build their experience as this is a truly unique opportunity!

Key Responsibilities

:

1.

Quality Inspections

: Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.

Sampling and Testing

: Perform sampling and testing of products for attributes such as taste, texture, appearance, using approved methods and equipment.

.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and results. Prepare reports summarizing findings and trends, and communicate any deviations or issues to the production team and CEO as necessary.

4.Process Monitoring

: Monitor critical control points (CCPs) during production to ensure food safety and quality parameters are met. Suggest, and work with production teams as necessary to implement and enforce corrective actions to prevent deviations.

5.Calibration and Maintenance:

Calibrate and maintain equipment and tools according to established protocols. Ensure equipment is in good working order and troubleshoot any issues as needed.

6. Compliance and Audits:

Assist in regulatory and customer audits by providing documentation, conducting inspections, and participating in audit activities as required.

7. Training and Support:

Train and educate production personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices to promote a culture of quality, safety and cleanliness throughout the organization.

8. Continuous Improvement:

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, operational efficiency, and food safety protocols.

Qualifications:


- Possesses a degree in Food Science or related / equivalent programs; additional education or certification in food science, microbiology, or related field preferred.

- Proven experience in a quality assurance role within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in ready-to-eat meals or similar products.

- Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA) and HACCP principles.

- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

- Close proximity to commissary will be an asset

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
