Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QA Coordinator to support quality assurance at our new small-batch sauce manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate is passionate about food safety and product consistency, with strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and RTE regulatory standards. You will play a key role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance, while supporting production teams with day-to-day QA activities.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Control
Perform daily QA checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
Monitor and maintain quality systems including GMP, HACCP, allergen control, and traceability.
Maintain accurate QA records, including production checks, corrective actions, and internal audit documentation.
Support third-party audits and regulatory inspections by preparing records and ensuring compliance.
Conduct shelf-life sampling, product testing, and routine measurements to ensure products meet specifications.
Investigate and document customer complaints, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
Train and support production staff in QA protocols and good manufacturing practices.
Operations Support
Partner with production teams to troubleshoot quality-related issues (e.g., texture, colour, separation, microbial stability).
Verify product labelling, ingredient statements, and allergen declarations for compliance.
Assist with calibration and proper use of lab and testing equipment.
Communicate effectively with the Plant Manager and FSQA team regarding quality concerns and improvements.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of QA experience in a food manufacturing environment (sauces, condiments, or dressings preferred).
Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations (CFIA, FDA, etc.).
Hands-on experience with QA testing methods, sampling, and documentation.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with basic lab/testing equipment.
