QA Automation Engineer II, Brampton, ON

In this role, you will be working with cloud-based and open-source technologies. The ideal candidate will automate and validate data platforms. The resource will be developing the test automation framework for our Data Analytics, BI and ML capabilities. The successful candidate should have proven foundational data management and quality assurance concepts.

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do:

• Develop and Improve test automation framework applying experience in different automation tools and technologies
• Develop automated scripts to validate end-to-end processes supporting data ingestion, data transformations, data wrangling, data cleansing, and delivery using Java, Python, SQL, and Cucumber.
• Collaborate with the Scrum team to plan and identify testing scope, successfully validate software delivery, and call out issues as needed
• Perform different types of testing on data platform, including unit testing, component testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing and regression testing
• Gather specifications and requirements on source systems to build test requirements and test data
• Assist with data-related technical challenges, perform root-cause analysis to answer specific business questions, and recommend and implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.

What you\'ll Bring:

• Strong test automation development experience with a focus on data.
• Software programming experience in Java, Python.
• Experience working with Cloud data platforms technologies: Google Cloud Platform (Dataflow, Big Query, Apache Beam, Apache Airflow).
• Expertise in analyzing requirements and crafting test cases.
• Expertise in SQL queries and databases (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server)
• Familiar with Jira and Agile methodology. Experience with Jira Zephyr is a plus.
• Experience using GitLab, Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise in the QE domain across test- analysis, design, optimization, planning, execution, as well as defect management.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a multi-functional environment and a keen ability to learn new tools, concepts, and subject matters.
