Position Title: Business Analyst (12-Month Term) Team and Location: IT \xe2\x80\x93 Calgary, AB Starting Minimum Salary from: $79,600/ year Position Summary: Reporting to the Manager of Business Analysis, the role of the Business Analyst is to define, analyze and document business processes and requirements. The analyst will analyze the new business opportunity and its integration with technology. The Analyst is responsible for working with stakeholders to understand their needs, analyze problems, and capture their requirements, and then working closely with the Delivery Team to refine the requirement into specifications that can be executed by the team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaison between IT and business to translate each other\xe2\x80\x99s technical terms for better understanding of requirements, issues, and foster cohesive working relationship.
  • Provide support for various projects and initiatives including conducting process workshops, business requirements gathering, test preparation and execution, and training activities.
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of business processes and best practices.
  • Identify and evaluate project risks and participate in defining mitigation and control activities.
  • Assist in vendor interactions and addressing vendor business process questions
  • Champions business process improvements and automation
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Completed undergraduate degree in Technology, Computer Science or Engineering with outstanding academic credentials.
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytics and systems development capacity specifically in Web application and/or Mobile application development.
  • Must have experience in business analysis functions including but not limited to
    • Assisting with business case development
    • Defining and mapping As-Is and To-Be business processes.
    • Eliciting, translating & simplifying, analyzing, and documenting requirements.
    • Requirement management and communication to various groups.
    • Software Development Life Cycle using Agile methodology.
  • Functional knowledge of Supply Chain and Finance, and ERP (JDE, Infosys, PDI, etc.) systems and Integrations is required.
  • Proficiency in IT tools such as JIRA/ Confluence, Visio, ServiceNow, Advanced Excel features, SQL queries, BI Reporting, Power Apps etc.
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills.
  • Enthusiastic learner with demonstrated ability to multi-task and thrive in a high volume and evolving work environment.
  • Strong commitment to ensuring deadlines are maintained and achieved.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams.
  • IIBA certification is preferred.
