Count on this! We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join the Financial Services Reporting team as a Financial Analyst for 1 one-year term. This dynamic team of individuals provide support for Corporate Finance and City business units. Our Financial Analysts help manage the City of Kelowna's finances, showcasing their superior leadership, pro-active communication, and strong technical and analytical skills while problem-solving and managing projects. This may include implementing, approving, analyzing and improving financial reporting and accounting systems, coordinating the work of other finance staff as well as internal auditing.
Duties - Union
Critically analyzes data, interprets information, legislation and policy, and provides recommendations.
Prepares complex spreadsheets for financial accounting functions.
Liaises with other department staff and external organizations in support of municipal operations.
Develops, reviews and approves financial transactions and reports.
Develops, monitors and audits special projects and agreements.
Researches and assists with policy development.
Coaches financial services staff.
Prepares and delivers presentations.
Drafts and prepares Council Reports.

Starts at $52.69 per hour with 2-step progression to $55.95 per hour plus 14% in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits
