Le/La titulaire de ce poste tres en vue contribue de facon importante au maintien de notre leadership dans le marche canadien de la reassurance. Membre du comite de direction du Canada, le PVP, Developpement d'affaires dirige l'equipe d'associes principaux qui stimule la reussite de RGA sur le marche canadien. Il elabore des strategies, des plans tactiques et des normes de service aux clients et assure leur mise en oeuvre. Il etablit des relations efficaces avec les cadres dirigeants, elabore et met en place des traites de reassurance, negocie des operations de reassurance avec ses homologues et gere la prestation de services de RGA. Motivateur habile, le titulaire du poste collabore etroitement avec les employes cles de toutes les unites fonctionnelles de RGA Canada, de meme qu'avec d'autres unites fonctionnelles a l'echelle des Ameriques et dans le monde, en vue de la concretisation de la vision et du plan d'affaires de RGA Canada.



Principales responsabilites :



Agir a titre de porte-parole des clients et de catalyseur pour l'excellence des ventes. Collaborer avec les responsables du developpement d'affaires pour comprendre, definir, prioriser et executer une strategie client efficace, ainsi que pour creer et mettre en oeuvre des plans de developpement d'affaires strategiques qui cadrent avec les strategies de croissance et la vision de l'entreprise. Etablir et maintenir de solides relations de confiance avec les principaux decideurs et les cadres dirigeants des entreprises clientes actuelles et eventuelles, et avec les partenaires, les fournisseurs et les autres personnes-ressources du secteur, pour repondre rapidement aux besoins, de facon a etre percu comme un partenaire commercial de confiance qui contribue au maintien de leur reussite. Diriger, gerer et orienter les activites de l'equipe du developpement d'affaires pour toutes les gammes de produits (affaires traditionnelles et solutions financieres), ainsi que l'equipe de Reassurance collective et Nouvelles initiatives. Veiller a ce que les equipes soient en phase avec l'elaboration et l'execution de strategies et d'initiatives conformes aux priorites cles de la societe, et qu'elles travaillent de maniere productive et en collaboration avec toutes les gammes de produits et toutes les unites fonctionnelles. Promouvoir l'esprit d'equipe et de collaboration dans les services, dans le cadre des interactions avec les clients. Travailler en etroite collaboration avec l'equipe des comptes globaux et l'equipe des solutions financieres des Ameriques en vue de deployer une approche coordonnee et uniforme sur le marche pour offrir une experience OneRGA . Soutenir le processus de planification clients de RGA Canada et orienter les ressources en mettant a profit le cadre de mobilisation des clients de RGA, afin de creer une approche d'interaction avec les clients coordonnee, proactive et strategique. Comprendre les dynamiques qui influent sur la rentabilite de l'entreprise et veiller a ce que les problemes potentiels soient deceles et regles rapidement. Suivre les derniers developpements du marche, notamment en ce qui a trait aux concurrents, aux assureurs et aux autorites de controle, et utiliser cette information pour elaborer de nouvelles strategies ou rajuster les strategies en place. Deceler les possibilites d'affaires ou les menaces potentielles. Detecter les problemes de conformite. Veiller a ce que RGA reste proactive et prenne les decisions requises. Informer les parties concernees (a l'interieur et a l'exterieur de l'entreprise). Rester bien en vue dans le marche en rencontrant les assureurs et d'autres intervenants du secteur, et en participant aux assemblees et aux comites pertinents de l'industrie. Assurer la gestion, le developpement et le mentorat des subordonnes directs, pour favoriser leur cheminement de carriere a RGA, dans le respect de la culture et des valeurs de RGA. De concert avec les subordonnes directs, etablir les criteres d'evaluation de la performance de facon a optimiser la performance des employes. Communiquer avec ses collegues et les aider a tirer parti de l'expertise disponible a l'echelle mondiale.

Exigences

This is a highly visible position that is essential to our leadership in the Canadian reinsurance marketplace. A member of the Canadian Executive Committee, the SVP Business Development leads the team of senior associates that drives RGA's success in the Canadian market , developing strategy, tactical plans and customer service standards and ensuring their implementation. Develops effective relationships at the C-suite level, identifies and develops reinsurance treaties, negotiates reinsurance transactions with client counterparts and manages RGA's provision of services. As a successful motivator, he/she is expected to work closely with key individuals across all functions within RGA Canada along with other functions in the Americas and globally, towards the achievement of RGA Canada's vision and business plan.



Key Responsibilities/Activities:



You will be the voice of the client, a catalyst for sales excellence and work with your Business Developers to understand, set, prioritize& execute an effective client strategy, as well as developing and executing strategic business development plans aligned with the enterprise's growth strategies and vision. Develop and sustain strong, trusting relationships with key decision makers and C-suite at existing and potential client companies, partners, vendors and other industry contacts to address their needs in a timely manner and be seen as a trusted business partner contributing to their ongoing success. Lead, manage and direct the activities of the Business Development team across all product lines (Traditional& Financial Solutions), as well as the Group& New Initiatives team. Ensure that the teams are aligned with the development and execution of respective strategies and initiatives aligned with the company's key priorities, and that they work productively and collaboratively across all lines of business and functions Work in a team environment, developing and encouraging a spirit of cooperation and coordination among departments in dealing with clients Work closely with the Global Accounts and the Americas Financial Solutions teams to drive a coordinated, consistent approach to the market to deliver a "one RGA" experience Champion RGA Canada's client planning process and focus resources by leveraging RGA's Client Engagement Framework for a coordinated approach to client interaction that is proactive and strategic Understand the dynamics which impact on the profitability of the business and ensure that potential problems are discovered and addressed early Monitor market developments with competitors, insurers, regulatory bodies, etc., and apply this information to develop new strategies or adjust existing ones Identify potential business opportunities or threats, Identify compliance issues Ensure RGA is anticipating the effect and taking appropriate action Inform interested parties (internal or external) Maintain high visibility in the market by meeting with insurers& other relevant industry players, participating at industry meetings and by joining pertinent industry committees Provide leadership, development opportunities and mentoring for direct reports to develop their careers with RGA, in line with RGA's culture and values. In conjunction with direct reports, establish performance measure to ensure optimal performance of associates. Liaise with peers and assist in leveraging expertise across the globe

Education and Experience:



Required



A minimum of 20 years of industry experience (insurance or reinsurance). 10+ years or management or supervisory experience A demonstrated track record in contributing to and implementing successful business strategies with bottom line financial acumen, understanding market, business and competitive patterns and trends. Proven expertise in conceiving, designing and developing innovative insurance and/or reinsurance solutions. Strong ability to engage clients on strategy and growth initiatives, and risk and capital management strategies Exposure to financial reporting, corporate functions and/or risk management is an asset. Firm understanding of the life insurance and reinsurance industry, including products, pricing, distribution, competition, treaties, practices, relevant insurance regulatory laws and tax laws and their impact on products and client company operations Familiar with and comfortable working in a matrix organization

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan.
