We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our Purchasing team. Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the successful candidate will be responsible for ordering raw materials, resale goods, MRO supplies, and transportation services to support operations across the Blachford Chemical Group. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient supply chain management by expediting orders, obtaining necessary documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and maintaining strong communication with vendors and suppliers. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our Purchasing team. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient supply chain management by expediting orders, obtaining necessary documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and maintaining strong communication with vendors and suppliers. Major Responsibilities:



Order materials as required by MRP and departmental requests. Expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery. Prepare, process, and close out purchase orders from initiation to completion. Obtain COAs from vendors, verify accuracy, and enter data for raw material approval. Liaise with R&D and suppliers to resolve discrepancies on COAs. Manage Master Data within the ERP system. Coordinate transportation logistics, including ordering trucks and selecting preferred carriers. Ensure correct flow of paperwork for incoming ocean freight. Provide customs information to brokers for cross-border shipments. Maintain supplier approval documentation, including CUSMA certificates, ISO certifications, SDS, and Supplier Code of Conduct signoffs. Process product receipts for external warehouses and direct-to-customer deliveries. Maintain electronic filing systems for purchasing records and COAs within the ERP system. Reconcile purchase order and invoice discrepancies in the ERP system. Conduct inventory analysis and manage stock levels at outside warehouses. Monitor and adjust min/max levels for resale goods. Review and manage slow-moving inventory, redistributing as needed. Track expiration dates on products and coordinate necessary actions.

Qualifications and Experience:



Education:

University or College Diploma in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field required.

Experience:

Minimum of 2-3 years in a purchasing or supply chain role within a manufacturing environment.

Communication:

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with data entry and ERP systems. Knowledge of pivot tables and PowerBI is an asset.

Industry Knowledge:

Understanding of purchasing procedures, customs, duties, and tariffs. Experience with transportation and logistics coordination.

Pay: $47,000.00-$67,000.00 per year
