The Purchasing Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the procurement and inventory functions across the Hoskin Group of companies. Reporting tot he Purchasing and Inventory Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring timely and efficient purchasing of goods and service to meet operational and customer needs. The role contributes to maximizing service levels while maintaining optimal inventory levels, in alignment with company objectives and values of operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Creating and processing purchase orders.
Communicating and following up with vendors
Creating vendor returns
Help with tracking vendor performance
Arrange shipping for purchase orders
Follow negotiated vendor terms
Help with inventory planning
Communicating with CSRs and Sales on vendor updates, item updates
Updating/Changing planning parameters
Reviewing planning calculations spreadsheets
Negotiating with vendors as needed
Analysis of items, demand, costs and vendors
Make recommendations on stocking levels
Reporting on vendors, purchasing and items
Inventory categorization
Help with Inventory counts
Maintain a working knowledge of all purchasing and inventory operations for multiple business entities
Lead and help resolve inventory related issues with representatives from other departments throughout the company.
Researches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services.
Ensures quality of procured items and address problems when they arise.
Be involved in assigned projects
Be willing to work in the office as needed to help the team with inventory related issues
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education, Knowledge, and Skills
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
A post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field would be considered as
ASSET
Familiarity working with computers or an ERP system
Knowledge of using the Business Central ERP would be considered an
ASSET
Experience working with vendors
Possess Excel and Data Manipulation skills
5+ years working in a purchasing/ inventory team
Attention to detail
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Must possess time management, attention to details, negotiating, and interpersonal skills
Must have excellent verbal and written skills
Must possess computer skills with proficiency in ERP software, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
