Short Summary


The Purchasing Controls Associate is responsible for overseeing the procurement processes at the CN Tower and is responsible for maintaining the food purchasing processes:
  • Oversees all procurement activities at the CN Tower, including formal and informal procurement processes, acts as the bid administrator on Requests for Proposal (RFP), and the sourcing of goods and services;
  • Controls access to the Liquor and Wine Storage Rooms on the service level, ensuring receipt of beverage stocks, and preparing Sales Transfer Orders (inventory transfers) to transfer products to the operating business units;
  • Reviews and analyze procurement and inventory transactions in JD Edwards to ensure policy compliance and system integrity;
  • Coordinates monthly, quarterly, and year-end Food & Beverage Inventory Cycle Counts
  • Enters CN Tower business records into the Records Management System (\xe2\x80\x9cContent Manager\xe2\x80\x9d).



Food Purchasing Processes
  • Oversees and co-manages the vendor selection process to identify preferred food suppliers for the following fiscal year.
  • Work with Director, Food & Beverage team to determine spending levels for each food vendor in relation to the approved operational budget.
  • Allocates budgeted spending across the approved vendors, based on historical purchasing behaviour, and creates the Authorization to Spend (O6) orders for the fiscal year.
Procurement
  • Oversees CN Tower procurement activities, with focus on Food & Beverage purchases, ensuring departmental purchases adhere to company\xe2\x80\x99s Contracting and Procurement Policy, Contracting and Procurement Procedures, and the Delegation of Authority.
  • Works with business units in developing RFP scopes of work and evaluation criteria, drafting RFP documents, and reviewing documentation with the Legal department to finalize procurement and contracting documents.
Inventory Control
  • Oversees quarterly food inventory cycle counts as the Finance representative.
  • Daily review of Sales Transfer Orders (ST) (pending shipment), picking orders, verifying product identifiers (barcodes) are applied and correctly captured in JD Edwards, and confirming shipment of orders when handed off to the business unit.


Qualifications


  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Operation Management, Procurement or a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience in Procurement. Inventory Control, and Administrative Services including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong organizational skills necessary to manage large volumes of business and opportunities from various sources and to coordinate multiple projects
  • Ability to use good judgment and to apply problem-solving skills on a variety of issues
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with JD Edwards is an asset
  • Experience with records management software is an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset


Working Conditions



Working in an office environment.
Light to infrequently moderate physical effort; Requires handling of light and moderate weight objects including office equipment and other office supplies.
Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, conflicting demands, frequent interruptions, and heavy work loads.
Ability to stand or walk for long periods of the day.
