Job Description

Robert Half is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchaser long-term CONTRACT position to join our client in Waterloo, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of IT equipment, software and services, negotiating with suppliers and vendors, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of IT projects. This is a CONTRACT HYBRID opportunity in Waterloo, ON.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and pricing
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and finance teams, to understand their requirements and ensure they are met
- Manage the procurement process from start to finish, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and ensuring that invoices are processed accurately
- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures
- Keep up to date with industry trends, new products and services, and emerging technologies
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and practices
- Contract Negotiation, Negotiate Pricing, Negotiate Terms, Purchasing Strategies, Purchasing Procurement, Stakeholder Management, Maintain Vendor Files, Manage Vendor Relationships, Multiple Vendor

Requirements:
- Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in purchasing within the IT industry
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and procurement software systems
