Job Description


Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for a Publication Coordinator to join our team in Burnaby!

The Publication Coordinator will be responsible for preparing Engineers and Geoscientists BC guidelines for design and publication, including editorial review and design management. The Publication Coordinator will also research and write news articles and other content, and provide editorial support for publications, communications materials, and marketing collateral (both web and print).

The Publication Coordinator will have the opportunity to join a high-performing and close-knit team of professionals working within the unique landscape of regulatory publications.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Responsible for editorial review of professional practice guidelines and advisories, including copy editing, proofing and some substantive editing.
  • Managing the overall production and publication of professional practice guidelines. This includes document assembly, liaising with technical staff to coordinate editorial and legal review, and working directly with in-house staff or external contractors on the design and print production processes.
  • Researching and writing articles and other content for Engineers and Geoscientists BC internal and external communications.
  • Providing editing, copy editing, proofing, and additional support for publications and external communications materials (including Innovation magazine, eNews, and the Annual Report).
  • Maintaining and updating the organization\xe2\x80\x99s house corporate style guide and providing training and guidance to staff to ensure consistent and clear communications with external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

The successful applicant will possess the following:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Communications, Publishing, or a related field
  • Editors Canada certification is an asset
  • 5+ years of progressive experience editing and producing communications materials for publication
  • 5+ years experience in technical writing, copyediting, proofing, print production, graphic layout, and document assembly
