Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Brand Communications, the Public Relations Specialist plays an important role within the PR team and the company at large by assisting with the creation and implementation of public relations initiatives that build awareness and foster brand advocacy for SSENSE. Through ongoing media relations and events, the Public Relations Specialist contributes to driving brand equity by amplifying SSENSE initiatives across a diverse mix of relevant media channels and platforms.

Responsibilities

40% Planning

  • Facilitate communication and daily requests with international PR agencies
  • Liaise with external partners and internal teams to develop effective PR tools and assets including but not limited to: drafting press releases & alerts, media lists, pitches, seasonal lookbooks and product images
  • Liaise with Studio teams to deliver high quality PR product shoots and copy translations
  • Work closely with external partners and internal teams to coordinate media/VIP events and product launches
60% Execution
  • Support proactive & reactive Canadian media relations (EN/FR)
  • Fulfill media/stylist image requests and product loans for all markets
  • Lead product gifting, seeding and loan requests with our Fulfillment Center team to ensure PR loan requests are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Lead seasonal product refresh of agency showrooms
  • Support daily media/influencer monitoring and maintain accuracy of media coverage tracking
  • Support regular performance reports related to brand projects and media relations campaigns
  • Research, develop and maintain accurate Canadian media and influencer pitching/invite lists
  • Support PR event coordination and on-site execution
  • Develop and maintain Canadian media/influencer relationships
  • Maintain the PR section of the internal employee portal
  • Provide internal teams with PR support as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree, preferably in Communications or Public Relations
  • Minimum 3 years of PR experience, agency experience an asset
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, OS X, and Google products; experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is an asset
  • Global market experience is an asset (USA, Japan, Europe)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the global media landscape, both traditional and digital
  • Experience in fashion and multi-brand retail; additional experience in luxury, e-commerce, corporate communications, and technology is an asset
  • Flexible schedule according to the Communications life cycles
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French, other languages are an asset
