The Halvar Jonson Centre for Brain Injury is a 48-bed facility that provides care for patients with acquired brain injury through an interdisciplinary approach. The program is a progressive and expanding service with a commitment to professional development and excellence. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing client centered treatment programs for patients with acquired brain injury, participating as a key member of the interdisciplinary team. \xe2\x80\x9cAttention Psychologists! Description:

As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Master\'s degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Additional Required Qualifications:

You have strong communication and organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary team. You demonstrate excellent observation, organization and communication skills. You are able to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. You have strong problem solving and interpersonal skills. CPR required - BLS for Health Care Providers Level C. You are physically capable of carrying out the duties of this position as you may be required to transfer, reposition and mobilize patients as well as manage behavioral problems resulting from the brain injury. Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of 1-2 years\' experience as a registered psychologist working in a rehabilitation setting. Greater than 6 months experience in working in neurology with stroke and brain injured patients is desired. Experience in performing psychological assessments, as well as knowledge of administration and interpretation of a variety of standardized cognitive assessment instruments is essential.
