Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager of Child & Adolescent Addiction & Mental Health, the Psychologist I provides consultation to professionals working within the partnership program (Personalized Care in Community) and assessment of children and adolescents (ages 12-18yrs) with complex mental health issues and associated developmental, cognitive and behavioural disorders. Service provision occurs within the partnership program to meet the needs of the patients who are currently residing in this community based residential program. Service is provided in the context of family centered care and will include liaison and collaboration with community agencies, children\'s services and education. The Psychologist I may also be involved in case conferences, staff meetings, professional development activities, student supervision, program planning, and liaise with other AHS and community partners and assume other related duties as required. Appropriate documentation and statistical data collection is required.

Description:

As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Master\'s degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience as a Registered Psychologist working with children, under age 18. This must include experience with mental health assessment including standardized testing, case conceptualization, treatment of complex, multi-faceted cases and successful collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. Training in developmental, attachment, patient and family centered care, and trauma theories. Proven ability to apply these in professional practice with children experiencing severe mental health challenges. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in an outpatient mental health and/or school setting. Proven ability to navigate working collaboratively alongside a multi-disciplinary team; this included incorporating communication skills, conflict management, and effectively setting professional boundaries.
