Your Opportunity:Rural Addiction and Mental Health is looking for an experienced, skilled, enthusiastic and dynamic team member to fill the position of a temporary 1.0 FTE Psychologist I. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of a continuum of services, including screenings, psychological assessments, treatment planning, harm reduction, case management and providing therapeutic interventions to individuals. This person will maintain accurate and appropriate documentation on client files in a timely fashion and able to complete referrals to various treatment programs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, allied professionals and community agencies to provide seamless service to clients and their significant collaterals in various stages of recovery. This person requires a high degree of clinical skill and experience as well as exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to function independently, as they will be required to provide psychological services out of the AHS Addiction and Mental Health Clinics in Pincher Creek and the Crowsnest Pass. This person will complete formal and informal psychological consultations and education for physicians and other AHS staff, including in-services on a variety of addiction and mental health topics as requested. Reports to Manager of Rural Addiction and Mental Health. Consequential vacancy will apply to this posting.Description:As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.
