About the Role



We're looking for an

Property Management Accountant (Intermediate)

to join our growing finance team.

In this role, you'll take ownership of the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of residential and mixed-use properties. You'll work closely with our property management and development teams to ensure financial accuracy, support decision-making, and help drive the success of our communities.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who's ready to take on more responsibility, enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams, and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving real estate environment.

What You'll Do



Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties, including monthly and year-end reporting Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards Review reconciled bank accounts, rent rolls, and inter-company transactions Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to maintain accurate ledgers Assist with annual budgets and monthly forecasts, providing variance analysis and insights Monitor property performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements Work closely with property managers to track expenses, revenues, and capital projects Review and process tenant billings, recoveries, and rent adjustments Collaborate on audit preparations (including lender CMHC audits), lender reporting, and financial reviews Support process improvements and help implement efficiencies within the accounting system Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed

What You Bring



3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally in property management, real estate, or construction Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting Experience with CMHC Affordable Housing financing is an asset Yardi experience preferred -- full-cycle use of Yardi in property management accounting Experience with transitioning accounting platforms and process migrations Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills Effective communication and collaboration with both finance and operations teams Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar accounting systems Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation or progress toward one is an asset A self-motivated, organized, and deadline-driven approach to work
