How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:



The Property Agent supports the management of TRCA owned and managed lands and real estate assets. The position's objective is to ensure senior leadership are informed of ongoing negotiations, environmental conditions, and risks relating to projects and provide appropriate recommendations.



Major Responsibilities:



Provides support in the case of routine or less complex proposals, leadership of programs relating to acquisitions and disposals, and the coordination and negotiation of transactions, contracts and land use and management agreements. Supports routine land acquisition and management programs and projects as set out in the property and risk management work plan. This involves, but is not limited to: Negotiating agreements Requesting and reviewing external consultant reports Preparing reports and communicating updates to senior management and board and making strategic recommendations, where appropriate Liaising with internal divisions to review and comment on routine or non-complex initiatives Ensuring stakeholders are aware and understand and corporate directions and initiatives Manages and coordinates routine program requirements and oversees a wide variety of internal and external asset use and management items that arise from various municipal management agreements within TRCA's jurisdiction Maintains regular and direct involvement in corporate projects and high priority objectives Oversees and manages the coordination of external contract work activities Reviews and analyzes reports for accuracy and assess any risks or opportunities Manage consultants to ensure compliance and conformity with internal policies and procedures including but not limited to Encroachment, Land Sale, Contaminated sites etc. and external regulations and requirements Incumbents may also be assigned other duties

What will you need to succeed:



Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)

Post-secondary diploma or degree in real estate, appraisal, planning, law or related disciplines Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license

Experience

4+ years of experience related to real estate, appraisal, planning, legal or related disciplines

Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies

Ability to comprehend and interpret legislation applicable to areas under review and to ascertain compliance Able to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines; skilled in writing clear correspondence (concise, logical, grammatically correct) Able to write persuasive or compelling content for the purpose of generating positive responses or heightened interest by others Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate project status for various audiences Influential communicator able to facilitate discussions between parties with different perspectives of competing interests and resolve conflicts, coupled with strong negotiations skills Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint
