O\'Shanter Development is currently seeking a full-time Property Accountant who will be based in our head office in Toronto. The Property Accountant will be responsible for the timely completion of the financial reporting required for a designated portfolio of assets. Why work for O\'Shanter? O\'Shanter Development offers education and license renewal reimbursement as part of several other benefits. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial statements; Responsible for all aspects of property accounting, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and HST returns.
  • Prepare, update, and distribute daily cash-flow, investments, and Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in the quarterly review and annual auditing processes; Work collaboratively with Controller and Accounting Manager and prepare audit working paper for every property.
  • Prepare and complete monthly and quarterly reporting processes, including operating statements and balance sheets or other financial reports, as required.
  • Work with property/operations management to develop and analyze the annual property budgets.
  • Assist in financial accounting matters; perform other related duties as assigned by management.

You will also possess the following skills and experiences:
  • Minimum 1-2 years of property management accounting experience is required.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred (Business/ Accounting related).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word/Outlook)
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge on financial statements, and year-end reports.
  • A great team player, can also work independently.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain control under pressure and use professional judgment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Enrollment in CPA program of professional studies would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in Yardi would be considered an asset.
