We are looking for a Property Accountant to join Oxford's North American Accounting team. The successful candidate will be part of an innovative team who is responsible for the accounting and analysis for a portfolio of properties and other projects as assigned. This role requires strong analytical and critical thinking skills, strong communication and the ability to multitask in a complex environment. Experience working in the real estate industry is preferred.
We are looking for a Property Accountant to join Oxford's North American Accounting team. Experience working in the real estate industry is preferred.
Specific duties include:
Responsible for all aspects of general ledger accounting, including month-end close entries, bank reconciliations, commodity tax remittances, etc.
Prepare, analyze and interpret monthly financial results to support the business
Prepare quarterly financial packages, year-end audit packages and liaison with auditors.
Analyze cash flows and manage contributions/distributions through the various legal structures
Prepare annual operating and capital budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
Review and analyze tenant leases, and year-end audited cost statements to facilitate final tenant billing reconciliations.
Work proactively with property management and asset management to identify issues regarding the monthly financial results, tenant recoveries / tax questions, and provide guidance on proper accounting policies.
Prepare various accounting reports and analysis as requested by property management and other related parties.
Experience/Qualifications Required
Minimum 2-3 years work experience in real estate accounting
University degree.
CPA designation or CPA program is substantially completed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a teamwork environment and strong ability to manage multiple tasks
Strong financial analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex situations and synthesize relevant information.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
Experience with HFM and JDE considered an asset
