About the Opportunity

Our client who is located in the Stittsville area is looking for a Property Accountant to join their growing team.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining and managing cash flow for various bank accounts
• Preparing and reviewing daily transactions as part of a full accounting cycle, including AR, AP and analysis for various properties
• Month end closing, reconciliation of sub ledger to the general ledger
• Completing property financial reports
• Assisting in the annual independent financial review/audit
• Getting monthly mortgage statements and reconcile to QuickBooks Online
• Calculate, record and reconcile depreciation of all the properties
• Interfacing and regularly communicating with various teams throughout the organization and with Management to better understand reporting and analysis needs and deliver accordingly
• Communicate with the lenders and lawyers and ensure all required documentation sent to them
• Monitor all new lender updates, stay up to date on lender policies and procedures
• Able to problem solve using a quick and intuitive approach
• Updating and maintaining files
• Creating new systems to help our business grow

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

• At least two years of experience as a Property Accountant
• Diploma or degree in Accounting
• Extensive experience in real estate and real estate law
• Previous experience in financing applications for mortgages
• Bilingual (Strong Oral and Written Skills) is considered an asset
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Highly effective in multi-tasking
• Ability to manage fast-paced environments and adapt to change
• High level of discretion required in dealing with confidential matters
