We\xe2\x80\x99re currently hiring a Property Accountant to join our Ottawa Team. This role is a key accounting resource at a regional level and will work with the Finance and Accounting team to support the Operations, Receivables, and Payables teams. The role will allow you to gain and develop an in-depth understanding of property accounting by immersing you in the day-to-day accounting for both multifamily and commercial real estate. Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the timely and accurate production of property financial reports, variance analysis, NOI analysis, and account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Preparing day-to-day transactions and journal entries as part of a full accounting cycle.
- Preparing and maintaining various schedules including property taxes and utilities.
- Interfacing and regularly communicating with various teams throughout the organization to better understand reporting and analysis needs and deliver accordingly.
- Assisting in production of a timely and supported annual budget and year-end.
- Other related activities to support objectives.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including knowledge of advanced functions.
- Property accounting experience is an asset.
- Proficiency with Yardi property management software is an asset.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and respond to deadlines on multiple projects in a timely and professional manner.
- Self-motivated, results-driven professional with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- This is an in-person/office position located in Ottawa.
