Job Description

Our client is looking for a Property Accountant for a contract position with potential to convert to a full time position. This position will provide accounting support for the commercial real estate portfolio.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger and working paper files, preparing monthly financial statements, annual year-end audit working papers, and reconciling bank accounts.
- Actively prepare the operating budget for properties, including variance analysis and forecasting.
- Calculate quarter end CAM reconciliations and assemble the necessary detail and backup for tenant\'s and senior management.
- Handling Investor/Borrower inquiries;
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned

- Post-secondary education in accounting or business
- 5 - 10 years accounting experience in property management
- Accounting designation preferred - Experience with Yardi system an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to prioritize workload and multitask under tight deadlines
- Well organized, analytical, problem solver with high attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
