Our client is an innovative, growth-oriented real-estate investment trust (REIT) located in GTA-West, that offers a flexible work environment! They are looking to add a Property Accountant to their team as they continue to grow across Canada and other jurisdictions. Interested candidates must have a min of 2+ years of full-cycle Property Accounting and Recovery experience within the real-estate investment or property management industries.

In this role you will report to the Controller and be responsible for:

• Preparing monthly accruals, journal entries, recovery calculations
• Analyze balance sheet accounts and prepare income statement variance reports
• Bank reconciliations
• GST/HST/QST reconciliations
• Approve AP invoices and AR batches for assigned properties
• Prepare year-end adjustments of operating costs and taxes
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Support property management team with various tenant requests
• Perform other related tasks as assigned

• CPA designation or actively working towards
• 2+ years full cycle account experience in a related role, REIT preferred
• Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere
• Time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines
• Conscientious with attention to detail
• Proactive to take initiative with extensive problem solving skills
• Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced and growing company
• Strong oral and written communications
• Strong software skills
• Yardi or MRI software knowledge an asset
