We are currently accepting resumes for a Projects & Programs Manager to join the CLAC Training, Apprenticeship, Jobs - West Team. This is a full-time, permanent position in our Saskatoon Member Centre.
Job Summary:
Manage a diverse team of staff and the projects and programs activities of CLAC Training, Apprenticeship & Jobs - West. The key responsibility of the Projects & Programs Manager is to lead a team of staff to help CLAC Training, Apprenticeship & Jobs - West achieve its vision of becoming workforce development leaders in western Canada, through the creation and delivery of strong apprenticeship facing programs and services. This position requires a strong leader, who is decisive, and committed to the strategic vision of CLAC, bringing together various teams of internal and external stakeholders under a project-based approach to develop programs that lead to meaningful and rewarding careers within the skilled trades in Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage all projects and programs activities within multiple business units.
Expand CLAC program offering in western Canada by actively connecting with local employers, unions, other colleges and industry stakeholders to develop and/or provide meaningful career development programs .
Work directly with industry stakeholders of all levels to identify, develop and deliver programming that meets industry needs.
Create, maintain and/or approve all project and program documentation, strategies and reports for CLAC Training, Apprenticeship & Jobs - West.
Development and maintenance of policies and procedures as they relate to programming, licensing, program delivery, and staff processes.
Review all programs and their success measurements, actioning areas of improvement where necessary.
Must be well versed in all business units of CLAC Training, Apprenticeship & Jobs - West. The Manager may be required to provide coverage or support in other business units from time to time.
Lead, manage, motivate and train all team members.
Support all direct reports in daily responsibilities.
Review and approve project proposals and support the development of project plans and teams.
Write and perform staff reviews, annual reviews, ensuring completion of CLAC college, and progress meetings on staff development goals.
Collaborate with other team managers and leads on the Operations Team workgroup.
Identify, delegate and participate in community outreach initiatives, events, networking opportunities and foster those relationships for all teams.
Qualifications:
Completion of community college specialized course relating to Business, Human Resources, and/or Project Management
Possesses or working towards PMP, CAPM and/or CBAP is an asset
Skills and Experience:
Minimum 4-5 years' proven experience in leadership or managerial positions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
Supervise and coordinate work units.
Able to handle confidential information with diplomacy and strict adherence to confidentiality.
Proficiency with all MS office programs.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong technical aptitude; adapts well to change and works well with new processes and procedures.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail is essential, with an emphasis on problem solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time management; ability to work under pressure prioritizing workload.
Travel across the western provinces is required for this role.
Reporting and Accountability:
This position reports directly to the Manager of Projects, Programs and Apprenticeship - West.
