Sunnybrook has an immediate need for a temporary Full-time Project Manager for one year. The position will focus on supporting priorities and projects in the Community Integration, Partnership and Outpatient Care portfolio including, but not limited to: improving integrated transitions in care and ALC patient flow across the health care system, supporting access to primary care, and other priority projects. We are looking for an experienced health system professional that possesses a strong understanding of the broader health system landscape. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing sustainable solutions for complex health system issues, in partnership with multiple stakeholders.
This role will report to and work closely with the Director, North Toronto Ontario Health Team and Director, Community Integration & Outpatient Transformation. The Project Manager will engage with individuals throughout the organization including Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Operation Directors, Program Chiefs and front-line staff. There will also be engagement with external partners including members of the North Toronto Ontario Health Team and its Executive Leadership Team (ELT), primary care and community advisors.
Project Management:
+ Develop and manage complex project plans (defining plans with clear objectives and timelines)
+ Lead multiple work streams across multiple projects (including content development to ensure sustained momentum) with support from Director
+ Identify, mitigate, and appropriately escalate project risks to ensure project success to Director or VPs
+ Report / monitor deliverables, timelines across multiple work streams (including SLT / ELT updates)
+ Utilize data from various sources and summarize succinctly for executive level decision making
+ Appropriately connect clinical and financial information to drive initiatives forward
Change Management:
+ Guide others to prepare for, support and adopt actions required to achieve successful outcomes
+ Facilitation of large groups meetings and processes to ensure objectives are achieved
+ Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the health system, including internal and community partners to design, implement and evaluate the impact of key organizational priorities.
+ Working as catalyst to motivate and to adopt new concepts
+ Influence to gain acceptance of ideas and proposals through persuasion and interpersonal skills
+ Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with individuals across a broad range of organizational levels
Qualifications/Skills
Master's degree in health related discipline (i.e. clinical, health administration, health policy, etc.) or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Minimum 3 years recent hospital or community healthcare experience or equivalent
Preference to candidates with a clinical background (due to nature of temporary projects)
Demonstrated project management experience
Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
High level of initiative and self-direction
Ability to manage multiple, complex initiatives within tight timeframes
Comfort in situations where the goal or process to achieve those goals is unclear
* Have a strong understanding of the health care environment including funding methodologies and hospital data structures (clinical and financial)
