IO\xe2\x80\x99s Project Delivery Enterprise Team delivers some of the province\xe2\x80\x99s largest and most important public infrastructure projects, including new hospitals, highways, transit systems, and courthouses. Our made-in-Ontario approach to modern project delivery has brought over 100 major projects to market and has made Ontario a global leader in infrastructure development by delivering new projects on time and on budget while meeting high standards for design, quality, and health and safety.


The role will initially focus on P3 projects specifically related to redevelopment and will require working closely with Commercial Projects and the Public Works Project Team to coordinate the roll-out of projects. The role will also oversee a complex schedule of construction projects to ensure provincial obligations are met; this is critical to the role.

To be successful in the role, the incumbent brings sound stakeholder management skills and experience finding positive solutions to complex issues with clients and diverse teams of project consultants and specialists. Advanced presentation, consultation, negotiation, influencing and consensus building skills are also required.

What You Will Do:

    • Manage the procurement and/or implementation of major development P3 projects.
    • Manage relationships with various groups of internal and external stakeholders to identify issues related to planning, staging, procurement, government approvals, relationship management and other commercial matters.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation measures, specific to complex projects including commercial issues.
    • Manage projects from Pre-transaction, Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) stage through construction, commissioning and to the final transfer of responsibility to operations.
    • Support the Director and Executives on the overall management of a major Project (or group of Projects) which includes providing commercial advice on contracts and developing commercial strategy for successful project execution.
    • Provide commercial support and liaise with the technical team and consultants, as required, throughout the planning, procurement, design, and construction phases of a project.
    • Other duties and special initiatives as required to support P3 Projects.


What We\xe2\x80\x99re Looking For:

    • Substantial hands-on experience managing major complex infrastructure projects, preferably P3 projects.
    • Experience in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or other relevant discipline to the construction industry.
    • Strong business acumen and an understanding of dealing with project budgets, schedules, and technical requirements/issues associated with completing construction projects as well as familiarity with the Dispute Resolution Process.
    • Strong presentation skills, communication skills and ability to speak to audiences at the staff level in addition to senior executive.
    • Good understanding of P3 programs and building construction and systems, including understanding of the various specific P3 delivery models (e.g. Build-Finance, Design-Build-Finance, Design-Build-Finance-Maintain, etc.).
    • Experience negotiating claims, scope changes and other compliance and contractual items on major social projects is preferred.
